James Bennett works for JB Furniture restoration Limited and has a part time interest in playing chess, making chess boards and collecting rare antique chessmen from the 1800s. He began his career working as an assistant for his father who had worked as a cabinet maker all his life before he retired in 1998. James became interested in chess from an early age and combines his love of the game with his love of finely crafted woodwork. He is always on the lookout for old antique chess sets and hopes one day to find that elusive 1861 Staunton chess set going cheap at the local car boot sale.
