Aug 31, 2021 at 22:58 comment added itub When there is only one move that doesn't lose, I've seen that called an "only move" (represented by □ in annotations). A forcing move limits the opponent's options, but they may still have more than one choice. For example, if you capture a piece, your opponent is "forced" to recapture (unless there is a zwischenzug or a sound sacrifice), but there may be more than one reasonable way to recapture.
