I have been messing around with programming since the seventies. Majored in CS and completed all the CS requirements to graduate. You might think that the education I got back then may be obsolete now, but in fact, it seems that it took hardware time to catch up with what was already known theoretically. Now with big data and parallel processing etc, it seems like hardware is now leading the way. At any rate, life events and a different "career" choice, as a professional poker player, kept me from being part of any serious job or project involving an actual software team. However, I have kept up on things, and have accomplished a fair amount on my own. Over the last year and a half I have been very intensely studying Data Science, mostly through datacamp, which I highly reccommend. I have completed three different career tracks: Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Python Programmer and am closing in on a certification.
