Lichess is a blind-accessible chess site that I like to play. But for some reason, it doesn't support puzzles in an accessible way.

I've done everything that I need to do to make them accessible. But they still aren't, even though it seems possible.

Why aren't puzzles accessible on Lichess for the vision-impaired?

My other question is that is there a accessible chess site where you can play both games and puzzles? – Toby Harnish Mar 8 at 17:55

@Razetime Useful earlier comments have been deleted. The OP wants to input moves from the keyboard as he can't use the mouse. On Lichess this appears to be possible when playing games, but not for solving problems. – Ian Bush Mar 9 at 8:38

@Razetime Like I said, I'm a blind player. So I need a software that can help me play chess and puzzle online without seeing anything. Just by hearing. Nothing more than that. – Toby Harnish Mar 9 at 12:15

How would you propose they implement it? Send them a message, they are quite responsive to these sorts of requests. (Also, just out of morbid curiosity, how are you using this site?) – Don Thousand Mar 9 at 14:45

eg Dom Thousand As you know I am a blind chess player on lichess. So the only way for me to play chess is through typing out the moves in algebraic forms. Let's say if I want to move a pawn from e2 to e4, I just need to type e4 and it'll go there for me. If you want to learn more, visit my other question at chess.stackexchange.com/questions/34395/… Everything is by typing!!! – Toby Harnish Mar 9 at 14:50

On the Lichess database site for puzzles I found a link, where someone implemented an interface to solve puzzles "blindfolded" (i.e. without seeing the board):

https://www.tryit.in/blindfoldpuzzles/

However, because of my nonexistent knowledge in that matter, I have no idea if it's usable by blind people. It also seems limited to puzzles with very few pieces.

It might be because your computer can't handle or blocks specific puzzles!

  • how do I unblock the puzzle games on my computers? My computer is a good computer, so it is not my computer can't handle the puzzles. – Toby Harnish Mar 12 at 13:29
  • You could try a vpn – Awesomemortality Mar 12 at 13:37
  • If your computer is blocking the puzzles – Awesomemortality Mar 12 at 13:37

@ Awesomemortality, it doesn't work. It doesn't matter what I do (try this or that), it is the same. I think it is a bug that I have to report to lichess. – Toby Harnish Mar 12 at 14:52
